Works on Paper 2024 - National Juried Competition

Works on Paper 2024 is the 26th Annual National Juried Competition and Exhibition at the Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts & Sciences. The competition welcomes entries of original work created within the last two years that explore varied media utilizing paper. Works on Paper can include drawing, painting on paper, hand-pulled prints, photographic prints, digitally created artwork displayed as prints, and paper constructions that may be wall hung. The juror for 2024 is Kim Conaty, Curator of Drawings & Prints at the Whitney Museum of American Art, NYC, who will select 65 artworks for display in the gallery.

Eligibility: Artists 18 years and older residing in the continental USA. Two-dimensional works should not exceed 60 inches in width and height, and not exceed 10 lbs. Work may not project beyond 18 inches in the third dimension. Work must not have a retail value over $7,500 and must not have been previously shown at LBIF. All works must be for sale. The Long Beach Island Foundation will retain a 40% commission on all works sold during the exhibition.

Entry fee is $35.00 for up to 3 entries (non-refundable). Deadline for entries is March 31, 2024. Exhibition dates are May 18 - July 8, 2024. Awards include $1,000 first prize, $250 second prize, $100 third prize, and three honorable mentions. A printed catalog of selected artwork is planned. Accepted entries will be notified by email and posted on the LBIF website by April 8. Work must be received by May 8. Works will be insured for 60% of the artist's stated retail value during the exhibition. Unsold artwork will be returned to artists after the close of the show on July 9, 2024.
