About This Call
The 2015 Wood River Valley Studio Tour invites artists to open their studios to the public on Saturday and Sunday, August 22-23, 2015, from 10 AM to 5 PM. Registration is $150, with an early registration discount of $100 available when completed by March 31, 2015 using code "EARLY". Registration is open March 1 through May 15, 2015.
Qualifying applicants must maintain a working art studio located within the Wood River Valley of Idaho and have completed a body of work representing a cohesive, professional visual art form. Accepted visual art forms include ceramics, drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, and fine woodwork. Participating artists agree to donate an 8x8" original artwork panel for the Mosaic Project, which will be incorporated into a mosaic installation displayed at the Visitor Center in Ketchum and available for online auction July 3-12, 2015. All sales proceeds benefit the tour.
A group exhibition and artist reception will take place Friday, August 21st at NEXStage Theater in Ketchum, featuring a representational work from each participating artist. All submitted work will undergo an anonymous jury process. Artists selected into the Juried Collection will receive special recognition on the tour guide and at the group exhibition, and will be invited to participate in a special exhibition during the Americans for the Arts Leadership Roundtable in Sun Valley in August. Work sample requirements: 5 images. WRVST receives no commission on studio sales.
