About This Call
The 2nd Annual Wood River Valley Studio Tour invites visual artists residing in the Wood River Valley area—Bellevue, Hailey, Ketchum, and Sun Valley, Idaho—to open their studios to the community and visitors. Working artists with a studio located within the Wood River Valley are invited to apply. Accepted artists must have completed a body of work representing a cohesive, visual art form with professional execution. Qualifying visual art forms include ceramics, drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, video, and filmmaking.
Participating artists commit to opening their studios during the tour dates (September 27-28, 2014) and agree to donate a piece of artwork for the Mosaic Project. Each artist will receive an 8x8" panel to create an original work for a mosaic installation, which will be publicly displayed for auction July 4-13, 2014. All sales from the donated panels benefit WRVST. The tour includes a Group Exhibition and Reception on Friday, September 26, 2014, featuring one representational work from each participating artist. A special Juried Collection will recognize selected artists with special recognition on the WRVST map and at the Group Exhibition, plus an invitation to participate in a special exhibition during the Americans for the Arts national conference (June 26-28). The WRV Studio Tour will be promoted through online, print, and broadcast media, with participating artists profiled on the WRVST website. Artists are invited to participate in the Artist Education Series (January-March 2014). WRVST receives no commission on studio sales. Entry fee: $150. Registration deadline: April 30, 2014.
