About This Call
The Wood County Invitational Art Show, part of the Black Swamp Arts Festival, is a two-day outdoor art show held in downtown Bowling Green at the Huntington Bank Parking Lot on the corner of Main and Clough streets. The Festival is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization whose mission is to connect art and the Bowling Green community by providing programming that celebrates music and visual arts and provides opportunities for local artists. The show typically receives about 75 applications and selects approximately 45 artists.
Open to Ohio residents who live within 30 miles of Bowling Green, Ohio. Artists must be 18 years of age or older. Artwork shown must be of the artist's own design and craftsmanship and must reflect the style and genre submitted in the application. Application fee is $15.00 and booth fee is $150.00. Single booth spaces are 10 ft. x 10 ft. Artists must provide their own booth materials including tents, tables, chairs, and display walls. Electrical service and generators are not available. Set-up is Saturday 5:30–9:30 AM. Exhibition hours are Saturday, September 12, 10:00 AM–6:00 PM and Sunday, September 13, 11:00 AM–5:00 PM. Take-down is Sunday 5:00–7:30 PM.
Artists are required to attend in person throughout the duration of the Festival and must check in with state ID upon arrival. Artwork exhibited must be original work of the artist; buy/sell is forbidden. Artists in 2D and 3D categories may sell reproductions of their original work. Molded ceramics must be made by the artist with artist-designed molds. Commercially cast jewelry, molds, and imported or commercially-made products are prohibited. Each artist is responsible for collecting and paying Ohio state sales tax and Wood County sales tax (6.75%). Artists are required to provide their own insurance. Application fees are non-refundable. No booth fee refunds will be issued for cancellations received after July 15th.
