Wonderland International Juried Exhibition

Wonderland International Juried Exhibition invites artists to submit work that disrupts standard notions of reality through sensory excess (texture, color, light, sound) and/or unexpected visual mischief. The exhibition asks how your art can help reimagine reality and create positive change in the community. The exhibition welcomes an array of media, including digital media, film, painting, illustration, photography, printmaking, sculpture, textiles, video, and installation art.

The exhibition will be held September 15 through October 20, 2022 at The Art Effect's Trolley Barn Gallery, 489 Main St., Poughkeepsie, New York, with an Opening Reception Thursday, September 15, 5-7pm. The Trolley Barn Gallery is a 3,000 square foot renovated industrial space. Artwork selected for the exhibition will be shown in the gallery as well as an interactive, online exhibition. Juror Allison M. Glenn will work collaboratively with youth from The Art Effect's Youth Curatorial Program to select artworks. Artists will be notified within approximately 2-3 weeks after the deadline about the selection status of their entries.

Entry fee is $35 for the first three images plus $5 for each additional image (15 images maximum, including up to 3 video submissions). Reduced fees are available for Art Effect + Barrett Members ($30), City of Poughkeepsie residents with zip code 12601 ($30), and current Art Effect students ($20). Artwork specifications: maximum 7' in any direction; 2D artwork should not weigh in excess of 65 pounds. Artwork must be exhibition ready. Artists are responsible for transportation to and from the gallery and must provide return shipping labels. Prizes: $500 First Prize, $250 Second Prize, $150 Honorable Mention. Exhibiting artists may specify a retail price for work available for purchase; The Art Effect retains a 20% commission for members and students, 30% for non-members. Artists of all ages are welcome, regardless of location or identity.
