Wonderful Green

The MVA Gallery (Modern Visual Arts) invites artists, photographers, and sculptors of all levels to submit original artwork exploring the color green. This national call accepts painting, watercolor, printmaking, mixed media, digital, pastel, encaustic, sculpture, fiber, drawing, and photography. There are no restrictions on subject matter or style—all approaches, traditional and non-traditional, are acceptable. Artists are encouraged to explore how they utilize green in their work, whether it permeates the entire image, appears in small sections, or functions as a structural device.

Entry fee is $35.00 for 3 images, with additional images available for $5.00 each up to a maximum of 9 images. All submissions must be made through CAFE (CallForEntry) as JPEG files under 5 MB with a minimum of 1200 pixels on the longest side. Artwork must be professionally finished and ready for installation with stretched wire attached to the back. Paintings should not exceed 48 inches (framed) on the longest side or weigh more than 45 lbs; sculpture should not exceed 24 inches on any dimension. Photographs should be framed in black or white frames with white or off-white mats only.

Artists will be notified on or about September 23, 2024. Accepted artwork must arrive by October 17, 2024, for the exhibition running October 20 through November 22, 2024. Awards include an "Art of Distinction" Award featuring a special exhibition, an Annual Grand Prize offering a New York City exhibition opportunity, and an optional Director's Choice Award of $200. The MVA Gallery is located in historic Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, one hour from New York City. Artists are responsible for all shipping and insurance costs, and must provide prepaid return shipping labels.
