About This Call
Women's Works is a juried fine art exhibition celebrating women artists, presented annually by the Northwest Area Arts Council at the Old Court House Arts Center in Woodstock, IL. This year marks the 34th Anniversary of the show. The exhibition will run from June 3-27, 2021, with an opening reception tentatively planned for Saturday, June 12, 6-9 pm for artists and 7-9 pm for the general public (dates subject to change based on Covid situation). An online gallery will also be available through Biafarin, with the show featured on multiple online art sites for additional exposure.
Women artists 18 or older may submit any original work completed in the last two years. Entrants may submit up to three digital images, each representing a separate piece. A maximum of two works per artist may be accepted. All work must be for sale with a 30% commission on sold work, and must be available through the entire run of the show. Work size is limited to eight feet in any single dimension and 50 lbs. Previously accepted works in either Real People or Women's Works will not be accepted. For collaborative work, contact the organizers to ensure all information is collected.
The entry fee is $40, with a $10 discount available for current NAAC Members or applicants to Women's Works 2020 or Real People 2020. Cash prizes totaling more than $1,500 will be awarded, plus Biafarin will donate 2 Gold and 2 Blue one-year membership packages. The judge is Chicago-based artist Audra Jacot. The final entry deadline is April 25, 2021 at 11:59 pm Mountain Time. Notifications will be emailed by May 2, 2021. Accepted artists must deliver work to the gallery by May 29, 2021. Unsold work will be returned to artists by the third week of July.
