About This Call
Women's Works is a juried fine art exhibition celebrating women artists, presented annually by the Northwest Area Arts Council at the Old Court House Arts Center in Woodstock, Illinois. This is the 30th Anniversary of the Women's Works show. The exhibition takes place March 9 - April 29, 2017, with an opening reception on Saturday, March 18 (6-7 p.m. for artists, 7-9 p.m. for general public).
Women artists 18 or older may submit original work completed in the last two years. All work must be for sale and available through the entire run of the show. Work size is limited to eight feet in any single dimension and 50 lbs. Artists may submit up to three digital images for jurying. The entry fee is $40 (with a $10 discount for current NAAC members). Cash prizes totaling more than $1,500 will be awarded. The Founders of the show will also award a free month-long solo exhibition at the Old Court House Arts Center during 2017 to one selected artist.
The jurors are the founders of Women's Works, the artists of the Workshop for Contemporary Artists. The judge is Brenda Oelbaum, current president of the Women's Caucus for Art. Entry deadline is January 31, 2017 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Notifications will be emailed by February 12, 2017. Work must be delivered to the gallery by March 4, 2017.
