About This Call

Women's Works is a juried fine art exhibition celebrating women artists, presented annually by the Northwest Area Arts Council. The 22nd Anniversary Exhibit takes place at the Old Court House Arts Center on the Historic Town Square in Woodstock, Illinois, from March 5 through April 25, 2009. The exhibition features an Opening Reception on March 14 at 7 p.m. CST, which typically draws over 500 attendees. Concurrent with this show is the Thirteenth Annual Little Women's Works, featuring young women artists.

Women artists 18 or older may submit original work completed between January 2007 and January 2009. Collaborative works require prior approval. No previously submitted works will be accepted. All work must be for sale and available for the entire exhibition duration. Gallery size is limited to 8 feet in any single dimension and 50 lbs. Artists may submit up to three digital images of three works for jurying. Entry fee is $35 for up to three images ($30 for current NAAC members and qualified students). An "Early Bird" discount of $30 ($25 for members and students) is available if entries are received by December 30, 2008 at 11:59 p.m. CST. The final entry deadline is January 20, 2009 at 11:59 p.m. CST. All entries must include artist name, artwork titles, prices (including 30% commission), materials list, up to three .jpg images, and optional artist statement (maximum 150 words). Notifications will be emailed the first week of February 2009. Cash prizes totaling more than $1,000 and ribbons will be awarded. All work is subject to a 30% commission. NAAC will insure artwork while at the gallery; artists are responsible for insurance to and from the show. Works not picked up by May 30, 2009 become NAAC property. For questions regarding eligibility or work specifications, contact [email protected] at least one week prior to the deadline.
