About This Call
The Women's Jewelry Association (WJA) is awarding scholarships in three categories for women students: the Designer & Creator Category (based on finished pieces designed and created by the student), the Designer Category (based on designs including CAD and drawings), and the Non-Designer Category (essay-based for those studying to be gemologists, appraisers, watch-makers, bench jewelers, or retailers).
For the Designer & Creator and Designer categories, applicants must submit: a short essay explaining their career goals in jewelry or watches; three digital images ranked by significance with brief descriptions including materials, size, and significance of each piece; and a completed entry form. For the Non-Designer category, applicants must submit an essay of no more than 5000 characters (approximately 1000 words) addressing their program of study, motivation, qualifications for the scholarship, career goals, and how the jewelry industry will benefit from their receiving the scholarship. A blank image must be uploaded for the Non-Designer category to process the application.
Entry fee is $10.00. This scholarship is open to women students only. All applications must be completed by applicants themselves, and applicants may be moved between categories if the jury deems necessary.
