Women's Jewelry Association (WJA) Student Scholarship 2014-2015

The Women's Jewelry Association (WJA) is awarding scholarships in three categories for women students.

Designer & Creator Category: For students in studio jewelry programs applying with finished pieces they designed and created themselves. Applicants must submit a short essay explaining their career goals in jewelry or watches, three digital images of recent work ranked by significance with brief descriptions including materials, size, and significance of each piece, and a completed entry form.

Designer Category: For students in jewelry design programs applying with their own designs, which may be CAD drawings or sketches rather than finished pieces. Requirements are the same as the Designer & Creator category: a short essay about career goals, three digital images ranked by significance with descriptions, and a completed entry form.

Non-Designer Category: For students studying to become bench jewelers, gemologists, appraisers, retailers, or watch makers. This category is essay-based. The essay should be no more than 5000 characters (approximately 1000 words) and must address: the program being applied for, motivation for attending, why deserving of the scholarship, career goals in jewelry or watches, and how the jewelry industry will benefit from the applicant receiving the scholarship. A completed entry form is required. Images are not required for this category.

Entry fee: $10.00. All applications must be completed by applicants themselves with true information. Applicants may be moved between categories at the jury's discretion. This scholarship is open to women students only.
