Women's Art, A Persistent Path to Identity

Women's Art, A Persistent Path to Identity is a group exhibition celebrating local and emerging women artists. The mission is to promote women artists living and/or working in Boulder County and encourage them to share their original work with the community, celebrating the persistence of art making as it contributes to the artist's identity.

The competition is open to 2D and 3D women artists, 18 years of age or older, living and/or working in Boulder County. All media are eligible, including painting, drawing, photography, graphics, digital work, and sculpture. Wall-mounted works must not exceed 60" in height or 36" in width. Submissions must include 1-3 images at 96 dpi, no larger than 2MB, in jpg format. For 3D pieces, submit 2 images showing views from 2 sides and specify height, width, and depth. There is no entry fee. Entries must be submitted via Café by December 20, 2017. Artists will be notified of acceptance by January 16, 2018 via email.

Accepted artwork must be delivered February 10, 2018, 9 am–1 pm to The Collective, 201 N. Public Road, Lafayette, CO 80026. The exhibition runs February 12–March 31, 2018, with an opening reception on February 16. Related programming includes an Artists' Salon on February 25 and an Agnes Martin Film screening on March 8 (International Women's Day). Take down is scheduled for March 25 & 26, 2018. Selected artists grant The Collective Gallery rights to use images for promotional purposes on printed materials and the gallery website only. Artists retain all copyrights to their work.
