About This Call
The Wyoming National Museum of Western Art invites applications for Women to Watch 2027: A Book Arts Revolution. Beth Venn, Executive Director at the Neltje Center for Excellence in Creativity and the Arts and Managing Director of the Jentel Artist Residency in Sheridan, Wyoming, will serve as curator. Beth has held curatorial positions at the Whitney Museum of American Art, The Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the Newark Museum, and has consulted for museums, performing art centers, and public libraries on strategic planning and program development.
Beth will select three to five artists from around the state to serve as Wyoming's 2027 Women to Watch, using the National Museum's definition of book arts as the guidepost for her decision. More information on the Museum's definition of book arts and curatorial guidelines is available on the WYNMWA website. Curation will occur throughout Summer/Fall 2025, with the announcement of the 2027 Women to Watch occurring in early 2026.
Applications must be submitted through CaFE (callforentry.org) by September 16, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Artists may submit 5-10 work samples, of which up to two may be detail images. Applicants must submit an artist's statement and verify Wyoming full-time residency. This call is open by invitation only; if you did not receive the invitation code from a member of the Wyoming committee, you may not be eligible to apply.
