Women & Their Work 2023-2024 Solo Exhibition Series

Women & Their Work requests applications for their 2023-2024 Solo Exhibition Series. The organization seeks women and women-identifying artists currently residing in Texas who create inventive, high-caliber contemporary art. Artists must not have had a solo exhibition at Women & Their Work within the past ten years. Undergraduate and Masters degree candidates are not eligible.

Applications require 10 work samples (minimum 6 images, up to 4 videos of time-based work; videos will be viewed for 3 minutes maximum), a one-page artist statement, a current resume, and a $15 processing fee. The application deadline is February 4, 2022 at 11:59pm CDT. Applicants will be notified by February 25, 2022. Exhibitions will be scheduled for six-week periods between Summer 2023 and December 2024.

The gallery is approximately 1,700 square feet with 12-foot ceilings, track lighting, two moveable walls, projectors, media players, and sound equipment. Selected artists will receive a $2,000 honorarium, a modest honorarium for a Curatorial Advisor, a published catalog with commissioned essay, a six-minute video, and assistance organizing a public program. Artists receive 75% of sales from work sold during their exhibition. Women & Their Work is a non-profit visual and performing arts organization in Central Austin that has served as a catalyst for contemporary art for 40 years.
