About This Call
The 48th National Exhibition of Women Artists of the West Tallgrass Rendezvous will be held at Price Tower Arts Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, from September 20 to November 4, 2018. Approximately 175 juried pieces including paintings and sculpture will be selected for this show. The exhibition is open to all Associate and Signature WAOW members in good standing, working in all mediums except prints, limited editions, photography, fiber, and digital art. Master members are automatically included and do not enter through the application process.
2D works must be original work completed within the past two years (2016-2018) and not previously exhibited in WAOW juried shows, with a maximum of 40 united inches unframed. 3D works must be no more than three years old (2015-2018), exhibited no more than twice in any WAOW juried exhibition, and limited to 75 pounds each. All artwork must be professionally framed and ready to hang, available to exhibit, and for sale. Entry fee is $50 for one to three submissions, $55 for four submissions, or $60 for five submissions, plus a $5 media fee. Submissions must be made online at www.CallForEntry.org with Pass Code waowOK2018. Artist signatures must be covered before submitting.
Total awards will approximate $20,000 in cash and sponsor merchandise, including Best of Show ($1,000), Best of the Masters ($1,000), 1st Place ($500 for both 2D and 3D), 2nd Place ($250), 3rd Place ($100), Eleanor B. Coble Award of Excellence for Figurative ($1,000), President's Award ($300), Christine Drewyer Award of Distinction ($300), The Castillo Award of Excellence ($300), People's Choice Award ($100), and David and Leslie Allen Award ($200) for plein air paintings. The awards judge is Krystii Melaine, a Master Signature Member of American Women Artists. The event includes a registration and meet & greet on September 20, opening reception on September 21 with awards announced at 7pm, and an artist rendezvous at Woolaroc Museum on September 23.
