Women Artists of the West 45th National Exhibition at the Tucson Desert Art Museum

The Women Artists of the West 45th National Exhibition will be held at the Tucson Desert Art Museum, 7000 E Tanque Verde Rd, Tucson, Arizona from November 3–28, 2015. The exhibition is open to all WAOW members working in all mediums, excluding photography, digital art, and fiber art. Approximately 200 paintings and sculptures will be selected for the show.

Eligibility requirements: Original work completed within the past two years (2013–2015) that has not been exhibited in previous WAOW juried shows. Three-dimensional works must be no more than three years old (2012–2015) and exhibited no more than twice in any WAOW juried exhibition. Paintings may not exceed 20" in either dimension (excluding frame). Artwork must be available for sale and professionally framed and ready to hang. Work created with instructor guidance is not eligible. A maximum of two pieces will be selected per artist. Artist signature must be covered before submission.

Entry fee is $50 for three submissions, $55 for four, or $60 for five. An additional $20 promotional materials fee is due within 10 days of acceptance notification. Accepted artists must ship work to arrive by October 24, 2015 (shipped) or October 31, 2015 (hand-delivered). The opening reception and awards presentation is November 6, 2015. Awards include Best of Show ($1,000), 1st Place ($500), 2nd Place ($250), 3rd Place ($100), three Jury Awards ($100 each), and the Allen Award ($100) for plein air paintings. Judge of awards is Carol Swinney. Sales commission: 2D work—20% museum, 20% WAOW, 60% artist; 3D work—33% divided between museum and WAOW, 67% artist.
