About This Call
NEXT Gallery is presenting an exhibition bringing the art of protest into the professional art space. The gallery invites artists to submit protest posters, cardboard effigies, angry art, and other work addressing themes of discrimination, immigration, education, science, economics, politics and the rule of law, empathy, and human rights.
The exhibition runs May 8-24, 2026, with an opening reception on May 8 at NEXT Gallery in the 40 West Arts Hub in Lakewood, Colorado. Entry deadline is April 5, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Entry fee is $35 per submission. Artists will be notified of acceptance by April 15, 2026. Submissions will be juried by LeAnn Fenton and Pam Farris.
Accepted artwork must be dropped off on May 3, 2026 (time TBD). Out-of-state artists may arrange alternative delivery. Mailed works must include pre-paid return shipping and cannot exceed 38 inches in any dimension. All mediums are accepted except AI art. Images must be submitted as JPEG files at least 1920 pixels on the longest side, 72 ppi/dpi resolution, maximum 5 MB. 3-D artists should submit a video of their piece. Sold artwork incurs a 33% commission. Prices quoted on the entry form cannot be changed after acceptance. Artists will receive payment for sold works within one month of the exhibition closing. Artwork must remain in the gallery until the exhibition closes.
