WJA Student Scholarship 2011-2012

WJA is awarding scholarships in three categories: the Designer & Creator Category (based on finished pieces designed and created by the student), the Designer Category (based on designs including CAD and drawings), and the Non-Designer Category (essay-based for those studying to be gemologists, appraisers, watch-makers, bench jewelers, or retailers).

Designer & Creator Category applicants must submit: a short essay explaining why you wish to pursue a career in jewelry or watches and your goals/aspirations for the future; three digital images showing examples of your most recent work ranked in order of significance, with brief descriptions indicating materials used, size of pieces, and what is represented or significant about each piece; and a completed entry form. Entry fee is $10.00.

Designer Category applicants must submit the same materials (essay, three digital images with descriptions, and completed entry form). Images may be CAD or drawings.

Non-Designer Category applicants must submit an essay of no more than 5000 characters answering: what program are you applying for assistance with; what motivated you to attend this program; why you think you deserve a scholarship; why you wish to pursue a career in jewelry or watches and your goals/aspirations; and how the jewelry industry will benefit from you receiving this scholarship. A blank image must be uploaded to process the application. Entry fee is $10.00.
