WJA Platinum Diva Design Competition

The 2008 Diva Design Competition theme is the Platinum Wedding. Entries must be at least 85% platinum, though other metals are allowed as accents or prongs up to 15% of total design.

There are five categories: (1) Every Day Bridal ring trio suite (retail below $5k, not counting center stone); (2) Diva Bridal ring trio suite (retail above $5k); (3) Simply Elegant jewels for the bride or bridal party (retail below $5k); (4) Diva Bridal jewels for the bride or bridal party (retail above $5k); and (5) One fabulous design showcasing natural color diamonds set in platinum. Submissions may include 1-11 designs in any media (rendering, CAD/CAM, finished jewel, etc.). Entry fee is $35.00 for the first design and $20.00 for each additional design up to 11.

Winning designs will be selected based on originality, creativity, wearability, and interpretation of the theme. First place in each category receives $1,000, with two runner-ups in each category. Winners will be notified in advance and announced at a press conference in the Platinum Pavilion at the JCK Show on Friday, May 30, 2008 in Las Vegas. Winners will also be celebrated at the WJA Diva Awards Reception on June 2, 2008 at TAO in Las Vegas. The design must be capable of being produced. Winners may be produced by sponsoring manufacturers if they have not been or cannot be produced by the designer. These jewels will be consigned to the Platinum Guild International for one year for promotional purposes. If manufactured by sponsors, the finished jewel and design become their property in compensation for manufacturing and related costs, with the designer receiving name credit on all promotional uses.
