About This Call
The Wiregrass Biennial is a juried exhibition open to all artists living and working in the South over 18 years of age. Eligible states include Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. All work must be original and completed within the last three years.
The exhibition welcomes work across multiple categories: Craft/Traditional Arts, Photography, Drawing, Film/Video/New Media, Mixed-Media/Multi-Discipline, Painting, and Sculpture. The organizers are seeking innovative and progressive work that utilizes a diversity of art forms and media. Large works, installations, and new media are encouraged, and performance-based work will be considered in conjunction with the exhibition opening.
Awards include People's Choice prizes: $1,000 for first place, $500 for second place, and $500 for third place. A Judge's Choice award of $1,000 will also be given, along with a $1,000 award specifically for an Alabama artist. The exhibition runs from July 18, 2026 to September 19, 2026 in Dothan, Alabama.
