Winter Sentiments Call for Art

Submit works that evoke emotion of the winter season, a memory of a gift received or given, or reflections from a poem, word, or lyric that captures the sentiments of the season. One to three works from each applicant will be juried and selected. Artists are encouraged to submit work that expresses or interprets the theme through their own unique lens and definition of 'Winter Sentiments'.

All two-dimensional works are encouraged with varied media. The exhibit will be displayed at the Sage Gallery at Lakeside, located within the 1922 annex, now the arts park main gallery. Accepted work will be part of the December 4th First Friday event from 5pm-8pm, with public display from December 4th through December 6th. The gallery opening includes complimentary appetizers and a cash bar. Lakeside jointly markets with accepted artists through press releases, fliers, social media, and postcards. Art sales are encouraged with a 30% commission to Lakeside on any sales. The application fee is $30 (non-refundable).

Applications require 1-3 works of 2D art submitted as professional, high-resolution JPG images titled with actual dimensions and accurate orientation. Original work only, no prints. Accepted works must be hand-delivered and are ready to install by Monday, November 30th from 9am-5pm. Artwork must be framed and wired, professionally presented, with a label on the back including artist name, work title, and sale price. An artist statement (no larger than 8in x 10in) must be included. Work pickup is Monday, December 8th from 9am-5pm; a $75 per day storage fee applies if not collected by the agreed date. Artists selling work must complete a W9 form before payment checks are issued.
