About This Call

Alex Ferrone Gallery in Cutchogue, New York presents "Winter: National Juried Small Works Exhibition 2020." This national juried exhibition welcomes entries of traditional and alternative photography, photo-based works, paintings, mixed media, and small sculptural works depicting quintessential winter life—chilly temperatures, frosty scenes, icy ponds, snowy streets, bare landscapes, warming by a fire, winter activities and festivals, snow-capped mountains, flurries and blizzards, and cold weather gear. The jurors will be looking for thought-provoking, creative works expressing the theme. The exhibition is open to national artists and photographers 18 years or older.

All works must be framed in white or natural light wood and may not exceed 12x12 inches including frame. Fifty works will be chosen for the exhibit. The submission fee is $35 for up to three works. Accepted entries will be notified by email by November 6, 2020. Framed works must arrive at the gallery November 25-29, 2020. The exhibition runs December 5, 2020 through February 28, 2021, with an opening reception on Saturday, December 5 from 2:00pm-6:00pm. Unsold works must be picked up March 1-6, 2021.

Jurors are Stephen Perloff, founder and editor of The Photo Review and The Photograph Collector, and Susan Peragallo, curator and coordinator of the Jeanie Tengelsen Gallery at the Art League of Long Island. Awards include First Place: $400, Second Place: $300, and Third Place: $200. All accepted works must be for sale with commissions split 50% artist, 50% gallery. Shipping to and from the gallery is the artist's responsibility.
