Winter Light 2024: PAPNM Juried Small Works Show

Winter Light 2024 is a juried small works exhibition created to celebrate plein air painting by PAPNM members during the winter months. The show is open to PAPNM members in good standing and is hosted by Legends of the West Fine Art Gallery, located at 102 East Water St. Suite 13, Santa Fe, NM 87501. The exhibition runs from November 23 - December 31, 2024, with an awards ceremony and opening reception on November 23, 2024 from 6-8 pm.

Artists may submit up to 4 images for jury consideration, with only one painting accepted per artist. All work must be at least 80% completed en plein air within the past two years (painted January 1, 2022 or later), be original concept painted solely by the entering artist, and not have won an award in any previous PAPNM show. Eligible mediums include oil (traditional and water-mixable), wet media (acrylic, watercolor, gouache), dry media (pastel), and encaustics. Works must be two-dimensional and cannot be painted giclee prints, digital art, or photographic reproductions. Paintings must be sturdily framed or gallery wrapped and ready to hang with D-rings and wire, with a maximum size of 196 square inches including frame and a minimum price point of $400.

Entry fees are $39 for the first image and $10 per additional image (up to 4 total). Jury results will be emailed on August 22, 2024. At least 10 awards totaling $5,000 in cash and merchandise will be awarded. Judge of Awards is John Lintott. Artists accepted to the show will receive 50% of sales price, with Legends of the West Gallery receiving 40% and PAPNM receiving 10%. Contact Dick Wimberly at [email protected] with questions.
