Winter Gardens

Winter Gardens is an online-only exhibition with no shipping required. The theme invites artists to find something new and something close by—from their own winter garden. Look for elegant seasonal scenes: a winter bird on your mailbox, a reddening tree in your yard, a frozen lake at the end of the street. The exhibition celebrates finding amazing scenery close by, moments caught in time, and unexpected collisions of light and color as leaves turn and drop. It's a time of renewal and new beginnings, with exciting weather and extreme elements. Artists are encouraged to brave the weather and find unexpected local discoveries, remember scenes from last year, or take their imagination on a trip to create something completely unexpected.

Photography, oils, sketching, sculpture, ceramics, watercolor, and any other fine art medium are welcome, except video. Open to all artists worldwide, both amateur and professional. Work that is copied or done under the guidance of an instructor is not eligible.

Entry deadline: January 13, 2024. Entry fee is $20 for the first entry and $5 for each additional entry, up to a maximum of 20 images. Awards: First place $300, second place $200, third place $100. Notification of winners and online gallery opening on the Cultural Center website by January 20, 2024. All images must be in JPEG or JPG format, 1,200 pixels or greater on the longest side, maximum file size 5 MB. All sales inquiries will be directed to the artist.
