Winter Blues

Winter Blues is an online juried exhibition open to all artists in the United States working in 2D media (excluding photography and digital art). The theme is open for interpretation and could include winter landscapes, abstract pieces, or work featuring the color blue. Acceptable mediums include watercolor, gouache, acrylic, oils, ink, casein, egg tempera, and other 2D media on any 2D surface. Work must not have been exhibited in a previous Rhode Island Watercolor Society juried show, must have been completed within the last 10 years, and may not be copied from copyrighted material or partially or wholly painted by another artist.

Submit 1-3 digital images of your work. Entry fee is $15 per submission for non-members and $10 per submission for members. The juror is Yvonne Hemingway. Notification of acceptance is January 20th. The exhibition runs January 21st through February 24th, with an online opening reception on Friday, January 27th at 6pm via Zoom. Work may be listed as not for sale by entering 0 in the price section or by contacting the gallery at [email protected]. If work is sold through the online gallery, the Rhode Island Watercolor Society receives 35% of the sale. No accepted entry may be withdrawn prior to the close of the exhibition. Submitted pieces may be used as promotional material by RIWS.
