About This Call
The 37th Annual Winter Art Fair Off the Square is an indoor juried fair held at the Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center in downtown Madison, featuring approximately 135 artist spaces. The fair is sponsored and organized by the Wisconsin Alliance of Artists and Craftspeople, Inc. (WAAC), a nonprofit organization founded and run by artists that promotes and connects Wisconsin artists and craftspeople with the public.
The event runs November 7-8, 2026 (Saturday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Sunday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.). During the show, patrons can enjoy concessions, a silent auction, a Young Collectors' Corner, and a Creative Corner. Patron admission is $5.00 at the door; children under 12 are free. Amenities include booth sitting services, free Wi-Fi, drive-in unload/load access, and early openings with priority for artists at concessions. Ribbons will be awarded for Best in Show, 1st Place, 2nd Place, and 3rd Place.
Applications are accepted from Wisconsin residents aged 18 or older. Artists must submit 5 images (a booth shot is required) and can apply to up to 6 categories. The jury fee is $30.00 per category entered. Eligible categories include Ceramics, Digital Media, Fiber, Glass, Jewelry, Mixed Media 2D, Mixed Media 3D, Painting, Photography, Printmaking & Drawing, Sculpture, and Wood. All artwork must be original and designed and executed by the artist. The application deadline is March 2, 2026, with jury process occurring March 16-27. Acceptance notification is due August 14, 2026. Artists must present a valid Wisconsin Driver's License when checking in at the show.
