Wings Over Water

The Wings Over Water art exhibit takes place during the Wings Over Water Birding Festival each spring in Blaine, Washington. The festival celebrates migratory birds that flock to the coastal waters around Blaine and promotes conservation, education, and stewardship of birds and their habitat. The art exhibit honors the birding expo, the migratory birds, and bird watchers.

Artists must reside in the US. Acceptable media includes painting, photography, mixed media, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, jewelry, fiber arts, and digital art. Ineligible media are video, film, audio, giclee prints, and installations. 2D artwork must not exceed 36" on the longest side (including frame) and must be wired with no visible wires and no tooth hangers. 3D artwork must not exceed 60" in any dimension. All artwork must be for sale with price indicated including the 25% gallery commission. Artwork submitted must not be copied and must match the submitted digital images.

Submission fee is $30.00 and artists may submit up to 5 entries with a maximum of 3 digital images per entry. Entry deadline is February 25, 2026. Notification of acceptance is February 29, 2026. Exhibition dates are March 14 - April 5, 2026. Drop-off is March 11-12 from 11am-3pm at Blaine Art Gallery, 922 Peace Portal Drive, Blaine, WA 98230. Shipped artwork must arrive by March 11 and should be sent to Blaine Arts Council, c/o Margaret Owens, 5620 Sanderling Way, Blaine, WA 98230. Shipping costs are the artist's responsibility; include a pre-paid return label. Pick-up is April 8-9 from 11am-2pm or by arrangement. Return shipping is April 9-10.
