About This Call
The Monument Arts and Cultural Center, in association with the Society of Animal Artists, announces Wildlife in Art, a juried exhibition celebrating wildlife art in all its forms. This exhibition honors artists whose work is shaped by close observation and meaningful engagement with wild animals—whether through time spent in remote natural environments, field study, or sustained encounters in wildlife sanctuaries, rescue centers, and zoos. Wildlife in Art seeks to showcase artistic interpretations of wild animals and their habitats that arise from firsthand experience and thoughtful study.
Artists are invited to submit original works in which wildlife is the primary subject, interpreted through realistic, expressive, or abstract approaches. All two- and three-dimensional media are welcome, including painting, drawing, printmaking, collage, sculpture, fiber, textile, and assemblage. Photography and digital media are not accepted. Hanging works must measure less than 60" in the longest direction including frame. Sculptural works must fit on a 16" x 20" pedestal and be stable and safe for display. 2D work must be framed and wired for hanging.
Open to all North American artists 18 years of age or older. Artwork must be original and created by the submitting artist, and must not have been previously exhibited at the MAC Center. Entry fees are $25 for the first two entries and $10 for each additional submission up to a total of 5 entries. No more than two entries from each artist may be accepted. Entry fees are non-refundable. Accepted artwork may be hand delivered on June 22 or June 24, 2026, or shipped with prepaid return label and $25 handling fee. Artists are responsible for shipping costs and insurance in transit; the MAC Center will insure artwork on premises. Works must be for sale; NFS is not allowed. The MAC Center will retain a 35% commission on sales. Awards: 1st Place $350, 2nd Place $300, 3rd Place $200, Peoples' Choice $150. Notifications will be emailed by June 8, 2026. Exhibition runs June 29 – October 24, 2026.
