WILD PINK

WILD PINK is a juried exhibition open to artists working in contemporary art fields including painting, drawing, illustration, graphic design, fashion design, mixed-media, photography, sculpture, textiles, installation, industrial arts, and interdisciplinary practices. Artists must be over 18 years old and are eligible to submit nationally.

Artists are invited to enter 2 or 3 innovative artworks of original design that explore pink from aesthetic, conceptual, environmental, scientific, philosophical, and/or poetic perspectives. The exhibition will showcase diverse contemporary interpretations of pink in either 2 or 3 dimensions. Accepted media include painting, drawing, illustration, graphic design, fashion design, mixed-media 2-D, photography, sculpture (ceramics, wood, metals, glass, recycled/readymade combinations), textiles, installation, industrial arts, interdisciplinary practice (sciences/history + art), and mechanical technologies such as robotics and video. Artworks created within the last three years are preferred.

Selected artwork will be eligible for the onsite exhibition at Mad River Valley Arts gallery in Waitsfield, Vermont from September 9 through October 31, 2024. The exhibition will appear in Vermont press and in an art magazine. Work will be judged on strong craft, innovative design, thoughtfulness, and pertinence to current dialogue about pink in the context of environment and cultural exploration, including the transformative power of color from ecological, technological, psychological, and philosophical perspectives. Juried selections will include only one artwork per artist. Prizes will be awarded: 1st place $200, 2nd place $150, and 3rd place $100.

Entry fee is $30 for up to two images or 2 video files; a 3rd image is an additional $5. Submit 2 or 3 work samples total (0-3 images and 0-2 videos). Entry deadline is July 31, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Notifications will be emailed on or before August 5th. Submit entries through CaFÉ Call for Entries. Artists must submit an artist resume, artist statement, and artist bio. Entry images must show only the work itself with no background information. Entries must be JPEG/JPG files or Vimeo files no longer than 2 minutes, with file dimensions of 1,200 pixels or greater on the longest side, file size under 5 MB, and sRGB color profile.
