About This Call
WILD LIFE from the Los Angeles Printmaking Society is a printmaking exhibition at the Center for the Arts Eagle Rock (2225 Colorado Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90041). The exhibition runs April 1-30, 2022, with an Earth Day event on April 23rd in partnership with C.L.A.W. Los Angeles. The exhibition explores issues facing native wildlife and urban conservation, particularly in response to climate change and habitat loss. Los Angeles, home to big cats within city limits, serves as a focal point for discussing wildlife corridors and overpasses that protect connected habitats.
The exhibition is juried by Linda Lyke, Professor of Art at Occidental College and Los Angeles artist known for her work and activism in printmaking addressing climate change and biodiversity. A 3D virtual tour of the exhibition will complement the gallery exhibition.
Open to artists who make prints. Entry fee is $20. Free entry for Los Angeles Printmaking Society 2022 members (Student and Artist members). Artists may submit up to three images for consideration. All artwork must use a printmaking process, including hybrid prints, monotypes, and monoprints. Not accepted are prints using 100% photography, offset reproductions, or reproductions of artwork originally produced in another medium. Unframed and oversized work is allowed but must be ready to install and include a signed waiver. Submitted work should not have been previously exhibited in CFAER exhibitions. Shipping deadline is March 28th. Juror notification is March 9th, 2022.
