Wild Card

Wild Card is a juried exhibition open to all artists in the United States working in 2D media, excluding photography and digital art. The theme is open-ended: submit something strange, something fun, something beautiful, or a wild card of your choice. The juror is Linnea Toney Leeming.

Submit 1-3 images of work completed within the last 10 years. Work must not have been previously exhibited in a Rhode Island Watercolor Society juried show and may not be copied from copyrighted material or partially painted by another artist. Pieces may not exceed 48 inches on the longest side including frame. Acceptable 2D media include watercolor, gouache, acrylic, oils, ink, casein, collage, mixed media, monotype, and egg tempera on surfaces such as watercolor paper, canvas, rice paper, illustration board, and wood. Framed work must be under glass or Plexiglas and wired with no visible wire or hanger. Entry fee is $20 for non-members, $15 for members.

The exhibition runs October 22 - November 18, with an opening reception on October 29. Notification of acceptance is October 6. Drop-off and shipping dates are October 6-20 (Thursdays & Fridays 10am-4pm, Saturdays 10am-3pm). The show takes place both online and in person at the gallery in Pawtucket. Pieces may be shipped to Rhode Island Watercolor Society, 831 Armistice Blvd., Pawtucket, RI 02861. The Rhode Island Watercolor Society receives 35% of sales. Work may be listed as not for sale.
