About This Call
WHO I AM: A Queer Perspective is an exhibition presented by JOMOEQ, a Joplin, Missouri community support group, and Spiva Center for the Arts. The exhibition provides a formal space for queer-focused art and works by allies of the LGBTQIA+ community. The goal is to celebrate queer artists' personal viewpoints and journeys while illustrating vital support for the LGBTQIA+ community.
The exhibition will be displayed in the Jo Mueller Reserve Gallery at Joplin's Harry M. Cornell Arts and Entertainment Complex and will be available during Joplin's Pridefest 2023 activities September 8th–10th. Artists whose work is selected will be invited to an opening reception on August 15, 2023. All mediums are accepted, and this is an all-ages exhibition.

All 3-D work must be display ready and shippable. Hanging works are limited to a maximum size of 18"x24". Artists are responsible for delivery, shipping, and return shipping costs. Duplicates may be submitted to meet the minimum of 2 works. Juried cash awards: $250 (1st Place), $150 (2nd Place), $100 (3rd Place). Eligibility: Any LGBTQIA+ artists or allies living or working in the United States or its territories. Entry fee: $25.00. Media fee: $10.00. Submit 2–10 images.
