About This Call
HMVC Gallery presents "Whispers of October," a curated online group art show inviting artists to explore the delicate, fleeting beauty of October. As the world transitions from vibrant warmth to quiet introspection, the exhibition seeks to capture the subtle emotions, transient moments, and poetic nuances that define this unique time of year. Artists are encouraged to interpret October as a state of being—an emotional threshold where endings and beginnings coexist. Through diverse media and styles, whether abstraction or realism, minimalism or maximalism, portraits or landscapes, selected artworks create a space where viewers can pause and feel the soft murmurings of a season that teaches us to embrace beauty in transience.
Artists may submit up to 20 artworks for consideration in all mediums of visual art, except AI-created art and video/film. High-quality images must be submitted with an Artist Bio and Artist Statement. Accepted image formats include JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, SVG, and WEBP, with dimensions between 1200-2560 pixels on the longest side and file size under 2 MB. Digital entries must be received by September 28th, 2025 before 11:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Notification of acceptance will be sent by email by September 30th. The show will premiere on October 1st and end on October 31st.
All participating artists will be featured on the HMVC Gallery website and virtual gallery, receive a certificate of participation, and have their artwork screened on a jumbotron billboard in Times Square. Cash prizes are awarded: Best of Show ($150), Second Place ($100), and Third Place (online solo show). Winners of cash prizes must have a working PayPal account, and prizes will be sent within 14 days of response. The Third Place winner receives a one-month solo show at HMVC Gallery New York and a solo certificate. Entry fee is $35 for the first submission and $10 for additional entries (non-refundable and does not guarantee acceptance). By submitting, artists grant HMVC Gallery New York the right to use images for promotion on their website, social media, and online exhibitions, with full credit and copyright remaining with the artist.
