Whelan Galleries & Cottage Gallery - Night of a Hundred Angels

This is an open call for professional and student artists, directors, publishers, and artist representatives to submit entries to this juried international competition. All artworks in all mediums dealing with the theme of Angels are eligible. The competition welcomes a diversity of viewpoints and approaches ranging from traditional to contemporary and beyond, and all ideologies are welcome.

Accepted artists will have their originals displayed in one of two galleries in Laguna Beach, California, and their works will be published in the "Night of A Hundred Angels" volume I book edition. Selected pieces will be displayed for 30 days. All artworks must be original and the artist must own the copyrights to submitted works. All accepted artworks displayed in the galleries must be available for sale. Artists are responsible for shipping their art and return shipping of unsold pieces. Accepted artists may select the option of having their work presented in the book only.

Entries are divided into five categories: Painting, Drawing, Three Dimensional Works, Digital, and Mixed Media. The jury will present Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards for exceptional works in each category. Entry fee is $25 per single entry and $15 per each additional entry. There is a separate $40 publishing fee for works accepted into the book. Submit 1-12 images by July 15, 2011. Artists whose work is accepted will be notified via email within two weeks. 10% of all proceeds from the gallery show will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
