Wheat Ridge Meet the Artist Series

The Wheat Ridge Meet the Artist Series is open to artists whose primary residence or artist's studio is in Wheat Ridge, CO. All media types are accepted. Artists will be chosen based on the quality of their artwork, professionalism, general appeal, ability to present their work in a public setting, and desire to educate the public about their work.

Art shows will be held on the first or third Thursday of preselected months from October 2012 through May 2014. Selected artists will exhibit their work at a Wheat Ridge business and give a presentation to the public about their work. There is no entry fee. Submission materials include an artist statement (maximum 2000 characters), a letter to the Wheat Ridge Cultural Commission expressing interest in participating, and four digital images representing the artist's body of work.

Work will be juried using high-resolution digital images, which must be accurate representations of the work. Accepted work that differs significantly from submitted images may be rejected at the discretion of the Wheat Ridge Cultural Commission. Notification of accepted work will be ongoing until October 31, 2013. Artists are responsible for transit and insurance of accepted work to and from the venue. The Cultural Commission reserves the right to photograph and distribute images of work for education or publicity. Artists must indicate whether their work is for sale and list retail prices if applicable; artists are responsible for any applicable sales tax.
