About This Call
WHAT THE STREETS HOLD is an open call for street photography that captures the moment something private surfaces in public. The organizers want images of what people reveal without meaning to: how they wait, protect themselves, occupy space, move toward one another, or stay apart while standing side by side. Submissions can come from streets, stations, markets, public transport, neighborhoods, or anywhere strangers briefly share the same place. Your subject can sit at the center of the frame, appear barely visible, or show up only through what they left behind. Dramatic events and perfectly timed gestures are welcome, and the organizers most want photographs that make viewers pause because something in them feels familiar, even when the story stays unexplained.
