WHAT: Cars and Dogs

Black Box Gallery is hosting an international juried group photography exhibition on the theme of Cars and Dogs. The exhibition seeks artistic photographs of dogs and cars, featuring these contrasting subjects in a playful exhibition format.

Submission Requirements: Photographers may submit 1-5 images. The entry fee is $35.00. International artists are eligible. The application deadline is August 12, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. MDT.

Exhibition Details: The exhibition runs September 1-20, 2019, with an opening reception on Friday, September 6, 6-8:00 pm. The juror is Todd Johnson, founder and director of Black Box Gallery, who holds an MFA in Photography from the San Francisco Art Institute. Twenty-four photographs will be selected for exhibition at the gallery, and an additional 30 photographs will be selected for the online gallery annex. All 54 photographs will be included in a catalog available for purchase on Blurb Books.

Black Box Gallery provides free printing, matting, and framing for all exhibitions. Selected photographers provide high-resolution TIFF or JPEG files for printing on an Epson Stylus Pro archival inkjet printer on Epson Premium Luster Photo paper. Prints are available in 18" x 24" black frames with white mats pre-cut for 12" x 18", 12" x 12", and 12" x 16" prints. Exhibition prints are retained in flat files after the show for future promotion and sale. Black Box Gallery takes a 50% commission on all sales, with 50% going to the photographer. All rights remain with the photographer, and no sale or printing occurs without prior consent. Prints may be designated for exhibition and promotion only if the artist prefers.
