About This Call
WET is a juried exhibition of photography exploring the power of water in its various forms and how that power is manifested in diverse environments and cultures. Guest juror Christopher Rauschenberg, a photographer and gallerist, will select works that examine the myriad aspects and impacts of water—from geysers, rivers, and glaciers to the absence of water in deserts and tundra. The exhibition welcomes content addressing infrastructure like aqueducts and reservoirs, weather and climate extremes, and activities from sailing to drinking to bathing.
Artists may submit a maximum of ten entries consisting of work completed within the last three years. Each submission requires a digital image representing the artwork in its entirety, with file size no larger than 5MB. The entry fee is $30 for up to ten entries. This is a regional exhibit open to artists from the Pacific Northwest region (WA/OR/AK/ID/MT/WY and BC). Artists must include return postage for any accepted work that does not sell.
Awards include a $500 Juror's Choice Award, three $300 Merit Awards, and a $100 People's Choice Award. The exhibition runs March 16 – April 30, 2023, with hours Thursday–Monday 12:00–5:00pm or by appointment. Accepted work must arrive between March 6–10, 2023. Northwind Art will pay artists 60% of the retail selling price for sold work. All artwork must be ready to display; hanging work should be suitably framed or wrapped canvas with wire or sawtooth hangers.
