Western Trappings on The Llano

Western Trappings on The Llano is a juried art exhibition and sale open to all artists 18 years and older. The Llano County Historical Museum seeks to exhibit a broad and diverse array of the finest Western Art, Trappings and Gear. All works must be original Western Art, Trappings or Gear. Contemporary and traditional styles are welcomed. Painting and other art works showing Western lifestyles or landscapes of the Texas Hill Country are encouraged. Both three-dimensional and two-dimensional work are accepted, including Western Trappings such as artistic functional pieces, silver work, jewelry, leather work, spurs, bits, buckles, and similar items.

Two-dimensional work cannot exceed 44 inches in its largest dimension including the frame. Three-dimensional work must be no more than 84 inches tall with no more than a 9 square foot footprint and a maximum weight of 200 pounds. Artists may submit one application for up to 3 works of art. All work must be for sale. Artists whose work is selected into the exhibit must either donate one work of equal quality but lesser retail value to the Llano County Historical Museum for a live auction, or donate $200 to the Trappings. The application fee is $15.00 per application. Submissions must include professional quality color images (up to 3) and must be received by July 1, 2014. The exhibition runs from October 18, 2014 through January 4, 2015 at the Llano County Historical Museum. Acceptance notifications will be sent after July 15, 2014. Contact: [email protected]
