About This Call
This juried exhibition features over 100 select western artists exhibiting premier western art in the historic Carriage Hall at the CFD Old West Museum. The show runs from March 2 to April 14, 2019.
Artists may submit 1-6 images of work in the following media categories: Acrylic, Drawing, Mixed-Media, Oil, Pastel, Photography, Printmaking, Sculpture, and Watercolor. Installation art is not accepted. Two-dimensional work outside framed dimensions must not exceed 47 inches horizontal or 60 inches vertical; three-dimensional work must not exceed three square feet at the base. Suspended sculpture may not exceed 5' x 8'. All artwork must be ready to hang or display and include appropriate framing, matting, or mounting. Two-dimensional work must have a wire hang system.
Entry fees are $10 for members' first entry and $20 for non-members' first entry; additional entries are $20 each. All artwork must be for sale. The Museum retains a 35% commission on sales (50% for Quick Draw art). Awards include Best of Show ($1000), Best of Each Media ($500), People's Choice ($300), and Best Miniature ($100). The exhibition also features a Western Art Seminar on opening day, a Vandewark Miniature Show section, and Quick Draw events. Accepted artists are notified by December 7, 2018. Shipped artwork must arrive January 21-25, 2019; hand delivery is accepted January 28 - February 1, 2019 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Unsold artwork may be picked up April 16-19, 2019 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday-Friday only.
