Western National Juried Exhibition

Western National Juried Exhibition celebrates the spirit of the West in 2D media, including traditional narrative images, animal wildlife, still life, and landscape with western associations.

Eligibility: National artists 18 years or older. Original works of any 2D media executed during the past three years and never previously exhibited at DMAContemporary are accepted, including drawing, painting, watermedia, photography, printmaking, collage, assemblage art, and computer art. No giclee prints of artworks made in another media. Unique installation or assembled works are accepted at the discretion of the Director. Up to five works per artist may be submitted; the juror may accept multiple works by the same artist. All two-dimensional work must be framed and ready for installation with hanging hardware already installed. Size limit: entire work must not exceed 48 inches in width or 72 inches in height, and cannot exceed 75 pounds.

Entry Fee: $30 for minimum 2 entries, $5 per each additional entry up to a 5-entry maximum. Exhibition runs Saturday August 1 to Saturday August 29, 2020. Closing Reception and Awards: Saturday August 29, 6:00-9:00pm. Prizes: First Prize $1,000, Director's Choice Award (TBA), Visitor's Choice (TBA). Juror: Ann Zembala, Director of the Pearce Museum at Navarro College. Submissions accepted through CaFÉ from June 1 to July 12, 2020. Notification of acceptance: July 19, 2020. Shipping deadline for accepted works: July 31, 2020. Hand pick-up or shipping of works: August 29 to September 5, 2020. All shipped artwork must include return postage/shipping label for FedEx or UPS. DMAContemporary will not be responsible for any damage before, during, or after the exhibition.
