About This Call
The 2024 Western Loudoun Art and Studio Tour (WLAST) is the 17th anniversary of the Tour. The mission is to promote Loudoun County as a scenic and cultural destination by producing a tour of the county's visual artists, celebrating their work, and providing an educational experience for the public. The tour is produced as a joint project of Franklin Park Arts Center in Purcellville, Virginia, and Round Hill Arts Center in Round Hill, Virginia.
Professional and emerging visual artists whose studios in Western Loudoun County meet specified criteria may apply as Studio Artists. Loudoun artists who do not have a Western Loudoun studio suitable for visitors may apply as Guest Artists. Two- and three-dimensional work will be considered, including painting, drawing, fiber, wood, ceramics, photography, sculpture, and jewelry. All work is submitted to an independent group of jurors. The application deadline is January 31, 2024 at 12:00 Noon Eastern Time. Applicants are notified of acceptance or non-acceptance by mid-February 2024.
The tour will be advertised as a three-day event: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, June 7, 8, and 9, 2024. Studios must be open on Saturday and Sunday, June 8 and 9, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM each day. Studios may add Friday, June 7, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM as an additional day. All accepted artists participating for the first time are required to attend a New Artist Information Meeting held virtually in mid-April 2024. All artists must attend (or designate someone to attend) an artist-only reception at Franklin Park Arts Center on May 9, 2024. Application fees are $225 for artists in their own studio with or without a guest, and $275 for guest artists. Artists who are not accepted will be refunded all but $50 of their application fee. Applicants must submit 10 images of their work; at least two images of each medium must be included if more than one medium is submitted. New studio artists must also submit two images of their studio (one inside and one outside).
