Western Cast Iron Art Alliance Conference Exhibition

The 6th Western Cast Iron Art Conference takes place October 3-7, 2018 in Granite City, Illinois. Exhibition venues include Granite City Art and Design District, Gallery B, and Granite City Cinema. The juror is Marianne Laury, Curator & Director of Programs, Granite City Art & Design District.

The conference features four exhibition categories: Professional (celebrating diverse approaches to creative expression using cast iron), Student (for currently enrolled students; artwork should include iron and may incorporate additional media), Sculpture Drawing (graphic mark-making on two-dimensional plane using mixed media), and Projection (short videos pertaining to iron casting screened at Granite City Cinema). Entry fee is $25. Artists may submit up to five images total across all categories, plus one video. Images must be 1200 pixels on the longest side at 72dpi. Video footage should be standard resolution 1920x1080HD and no longer than 5 minutes. All submissions must include artist statement, title, media, dimensions, and installation details.

Submission deadline is August 31, 2018. Juror notification occurs September 7, 2018. For the professional exhibition, shipped artwork must arrive by September 19, 2018 (shipping address: WCIAA conference exhibition, Novel Idea Bookstore, 1400 Niedringhaus Ave, Granite City, IL 62040).
