We're Doing It ALL Wrong® - 6th Annual Art Exhibition

The Edward A. Dixon Gallery is seeking submissions for its 6th annual juried exhibition, "We're Doing It ALL Wrong®," opening August 6, 2026. This unique challenge invites artists to create work that exposes systemic issues, hidden crises, and overlooked failures of the modern world. The exhibition seeks art that serves as a mirror—whether addressing global crises or private struggles—with the goal of educating viewers and provoking dialogue about where humanity is going wrong and how awareness might lead to change. The gallery is also seeking a Signature Artwork that, while adhering to the exhibition's theme, defines the current period in history from the artist's perspective.

Both wall art (paintings, drawings, fiber art, photography) and 3-D artwork are accepted. Wall art must be framed if appropriate and wired ready to hang. There are no stated size limits, though 3-D artwork must fit through a standard door. Each artist may submit one artwork for a $25 entry fee, with up to two additional entries at $10 each. Submissions must include 1-3 images. All artists 18 years and older in the United States are eligible. Judging occurs June 1-15, 2026, with artist notifications by June 19, 2026.

Accepted work may be hand-delivered July 24-27 or shipped via UPS, FedEx, DHL, or USPS to arrive between July 20-24. Artists are responsible for all shipping and insurance costs. The exhibition runs August 6 - September 27, 2026, with both in-person gallery hours and an online version. Artists agree to allow artwork to be available for sale with a 40% commission to the gallery; Not For Sale (NFS) artwork is also accepted. Unsold artwork may be picked up beginning September 27 from 3-6 pm or will be shipped the following week. Judges include Ed Dixon (gallery owner and curator), plus two additional industry professionals. Award categories include Best in Show, 2nd Place, and Signature Artwork.
