We're Doing It ALL Wrong® - 5th Annual Art Exhibition

The We're Doing It ALL Wrong® - 5th Annual Art Exhibition is a two-month juried exhibition running August 1 - September 28, 2025, presented by the Edward A. Dixon Gallery in Dayton, Ohio. The exhibition challenges artists and viewers to recognize, react, and learn about the many ways humanity continually fails itself. Previous exhibitions have addressed topics including drug pricing, environmental and climate change, technology dependence, social injustice, Native American women disappearances, homelessness, gaslighting, and avocado farming impacts. The exhibition seeks a signature artwork that defines the current historical period from the artist's perspective. In-person gallery hours will be complemented by an online version of the exhibition.

Eligibility is open to all artists 18 years and older in the United States. Each artist may submit one artwork for a $30 entry fee, with up to two additional pieces for $15 each. Wall art (paintings, drawings, fiber art, photography, etc.) must not exceed 50" on its longest side, be framed if appropriate, and be wired and ready to hang. Non-wall art (sculptures, etc.) must fit through a standard door; three-dimensional work should preferably stand on its own. Judging occurs June 5-19, 2025, with artist notifications by June 21st. Award categories include Best in Show, 2nd Place, and Signature Artwork.

Accepted work may be hand-delivered July 27-29, 3-6 pm, or shipped via UPS, FedEx, DHL, or USPS arriving July 23-26. Artists are responsible for all shipping and insurance costs. The gallery will credit accepted artists their submission fees ($30 for one piece, $45 for two, $60 for three) via Cashapp, Venmo, or PayPal after artwork is returned. Artists agree to allow artwork to be available for sale with a 40% commission to the gallery; Not For Sale (NFS) artwork is accepted. Pickup of unsold artwork begins September 28, 2025, 3-6 pm.
