We're Doing It ALL Wrong® - 3rd Annual Art Exhibition

The We're Doing It ALL Wrong® - 3rd Annual Art Exhibition is a two-month juried exhibition running August 3 - September 30, 2023, presented by the Edward A. Dixon Gallery in Dayton, Ohio. The exhibition challenges artists and viewers to recognize, react, and learn about the many ways humanity continually fails itself. Artists are encouraged to submit work that captures or comments on traditions, systems, practices, institutions, or anything they see that needs repair or removal that has existed in Ohio for far too long. Previous exhibitions have addressed topics including environmental and climate change, technology dependence, social injustice, Native American women disappearances, homelessness, gaslighting, and suffering caused by avocado farming in Mexico. The exhibition will be presented both in-person at the gallery and online.

Eligibility is open to all artists 18 years and older, including international artists. Each artist may submit one original artwork (except photography) for a $30 entry fee, with up to two additional pieces for $15 each. Wall art must not exceed 50 inches on its longest side and must be framed if appropriate, wired, and ready to hang. Judging occurs June 1-15, 2023, with artist notifications by June 22, 2023. Accepted work may be hand-delivered July 16-17 from 12-6 pm or shipped to arrive the week of July 17, 2023. Artists are responsible for shipping and insurance costs to the gallery; the gallery covers return shipping.

Judges include Ed Dixon (gallery owner and curator), and two additional industry professionals. Award categories include Best in Show ($400), 2nd Place ($150), and Signature Artwork ($150). Artists agree to allow submitted artwork to be available for sale with a 40% commission to the Edward A. Dixon Gallery.
