WE ARE SNAG: Identity

"WE ARE SNAG: Identity" is the first in a series of juried online exhibitions celebrating the breadth of SNAG membership and field. The exhibition seeks images of traditionally crafted, contemporary, and experimental new works from current SNAG members. Work categories include jewelry, metals work, metalsmithed objects, body ornamentation, and related fields. Exhibition jurors are Tim McCreight, Jim Meyer, and Stacey Lee Weber.

Eligibility is open to all current SNAG members 18 years of age or older. Applicants need not reside in the United States. All work must be original and produced within the last three years (2011 or later). Objects made from commercial kits or commercially available plans are not eligible. Collaborations are allowed if all artists involved are current SNAG members; however, artists may only participate in one application—either as part of a collaboration or as part of a personal application, but not both. There are no limitations on materials used or size/scale of work.

Applications are accepted online through Café beginning July 1, 2014, with a deadline of midnight (11:59:59 pm) Mountain Time on July 31, 2014. The non-refundable application fee is $25. Artists may submit up to 4 images (any combination of general and detail shots of up to 4 works) accompanied by title, material, dimensions, and year of completion. A statement about submitted works of up to 1000 characters is required. Notification of results will be sent by email on August 22, 2014. The exhibition opens online on December 5, 2014.
