About This Call
Wax Poetic is an encaustic art exhibition and sale. Submit up to five images of encaustic work. The gallery will select up to three pieces for the exhibit. Artists must provide a statement about their work. All work must be for sale, with the gallery receiving 40% of sales.
Artwork must have been created within the last two years, not derived from copyrighted images, and not created under the direction of an instructor. Work must arrive by September 29, 2017. The exhibition runs from October 1 through November 19, 2017, with an artists' reception on October 21, 2017 from 5-8pm. Artwork must be in hang-ready condition with wire hanging method only (no sawtooth hangers). Each piece must have a label affixed to the back with the artist's name, title, and contact information.
Artists are responsible for delivery and pickup of artwork. Work may be brought to the gallery in person Tuesday-Saturday 10am-5pm, or shipped via FedEx or USPS only (not UPS) with prepaid shipping labels both ways. No packing peanuts. Entry fee is $35. Submission deadline is August 21, 2017 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Artists will be notified by August 31, 2017.
