About This Call
Water Media National Juried Exhibition presented by Dallas Metro Arts Contemporary, located at 1412 14th St, Plano, TX 75074. This national juried exhibition celebrates the fluid qualities of art in a variety of water media. The exhibition runs October 6-31, 2020, with a closing reception and awards ceremony on Saturday, October 31, 6:00-8:00pm.
Eligibility is open to national artists 18 years or older. Original works accepted include traditional watercolor media, ink and wash drawings/paintings, gouache, transparent style acrylic and oil, and collage which emphasizes water media as a main component. Works may be on any material, but giclee prints of art made in another media are not accepted. All work must be executed during the past three years and never previously exhibited at DMAContemporary. Two-dimensional work must not exceed 48 inches in width or 72 inches in height, and cannot exceed 75 lbs. All work must be framed and ready for installation with hanging hardware already installed, or have an alternative display method approved in advance by the Director.
Entry fee is $30 for a minimum of 2 works, with a $5 fee for each additional work up to a maximum of 5 entries. Submissions are accepted through CaFÉ only. Prizes include First Prize of $1,000, Director's Choice Award, and Visitor's Choice Award. The juror is Christina Lucas, Curator of Exhibits and Collections at the Pearce Museum in Corsicana.
