About This Call
The Watercolor Society of Alabama invites artists to submit work for the National Online Showcase 2025. This exhibition is open to WSA members (minimum age 18) whose dues are current and who reside within the United States. The entry fee is $45 for up to 2 entries per artist. Non-members can enter by paying the $45 entry fee plus yearly member dues of $40. Membership can be obtained online, through the entry form, or by mail.
Eligible artwork must be painted after January 1, 2022, and must not have been previously juried into any WSA exhibition. Only one painting will be selected from each artist. Accepted media include watercolor, acrylic, casein, gouache, egg tempera, metallic, watercolor ink, watercolor pencil, and watercolor crayon on appropriate supports such as watercolor paper, illustration board, watercolor canvas, clay board, Yupo, or synthetic paper. Collage work using original compositions on specified papers is also accepted. Work must be original composition by the artist; class or workshop paintings, copies, computer-generated art, digital images, prints, varnished or waxed paintings, alcohol ink, and AI-produced artwork are not eligible.
All entries must be submitted online as high-quality JPEG files. Images should be at least 1800 pixels on the longest edge with a maximum file size of 30 MB, cropped to exclude frames and mats, and correctly oriented. The entry deadline is December 9, 2024. Entry fees are non-refundable. The artist retains all copyrights to their artwork. Permission to reproduce accepted paintings for educational or publicity purposes is granted. Artists who withdraw selected work or whose work does not meet eligibility requirements will be disqualified immediately and will not be allowed to enter WSA online exhibitions for up to two years.
